  • MILESTONES // Just like how we use heritage techniques to craft our products and educate on the importance of generational crafts, it is so heartwarming to see mums use our products through their child's different milestones and phases. Sustainability at its best - multiple uses, multiple stages, multiple children. Thank you to the gorgeous @tomatoelemon for sharing these beautiful images. The video is of her second bub standing and taking his first steps and if you swipe ⬅️, the image shows him as an infant enjoying a day out in the sun.   • WAITING // So inspired by the latest article of @patriciadieselcoach "What are you waiting for" in which she emphasises that waiting too long can be very damaging in the long run and does not serve our higher good and calling. Often when people tell me they are waiting for the right time or opportunity, I’m bemused and unsure how to respond in those interactions. How do these people know that what is already in front of them is not the right opportunity or moment? As Patricia reiterates, waiting for this elusive opportune moment is actually a form of scientific programming and wires your brain to be in the same idle mode. Your subconscious mind picks up your brain's programming, and what follows is a period of stagnation and you going on auto pilot. You end up doing exactly the same thing on a daily basis because you are "waiting" for something else to come along. Your higher consciousness is the voice that constantly pushes you to get out of your comfort zone and go for your passion. Waiting certainly doesn't serve it. I hope this inspires you to take action in whatever aspect you feel stagnated in xoxo ❤️🌿
  • PALM TREES // Freshly baked. This little muffin is less than 2 weeks old and from what I hear is an absolute dream. Sleeping well, feeding well and overall just being on best behaviour, giving mum and dad some much needed rest. When we found out he was going to be a spring baby, I wanted to gift @mallory__xoxo for her baby shower a dohar that reminded me of the warmth and sunshine and our palm trees dohar did just that for me. Well done mumma, you had some challenges along the way but you have shown us how incredibly strong and capable you are. Enjoy this new journey, I promise that it doesn’t get any less than rewarding xoxo ❤️🌴
  • CONFIDENCE // Just finished reading a powerful article written by my beautiful friend @kyhanson and this made me think of my own journey to date. Link in bio to check it out. Confidence is indeed the thing you need to find your inner voice and make it loud and clear. Growing up, I had zero self confidence or self-esteem. In my primary school years, all my report cards had the same sentiments from the teachers. "Quiet, shy, and meek. Needs to participate more in class". When I went to high school, my self-esteem took a further dip as I battled with puberty, bullying, hormonal imbalance, peer pressure and constant comparisons to the popular girls in school. The first time I found my voice was when I was 16.5 years old and I joined a polytechnic institute (equivalent to an Australian TAFE) where I pursued mass communications and absolutely loved it. I found a bunch of other misfits like me who had big scary goals, thought out of the box and there was no such thing as social ostracism. There was room for everyone. My voice grew the loudest when I moved to Australia where I found people who believed in me so much and pushed me to break the boundaries and challenge the status quo every single time. When I think back to what has changed, the one key difference is that I gained confidence. When you are confident in your own skin and believe in your own self instead of trying to emulate someone else who appears to be popular and/or successful, your voice is the most authentic then and carries across a message so deep and powerful. But I acknowledge that the journey can be hard. Finding your tribe and having them believe in you and show you how much potential you have is not easy because you also meet people at the opposite end of the spectrum. People who project their limitations and inadequacies onto you and push you backwards to remain hidden and invisible. But once you get confident and you know your inner roar, you can move past these people with so much ease and grace. Happy Saturday folks! ❤️🌿
  • RELEVANCE // Brand journalism is a relatively new concept that was coined in 2004 by advertising experts in the US. It can be complex and multi-faceted to truly grasp but broken down, it simply means that a particular brand has different meanings and experiences for different people even though the product may be the same. For instance, a new mother shopping for bedding textiles for her newborn will have a different experience and factor driving her decision as compared to a project executive looking for a gift for her niece or grandparents shopping our textiles and toys for their grand-children will have different driving factors and experience with our brand. But what brings all of their differing experiences together is the concept of personal relevance. No matter your beliefs, behaviours, or attitudes, we offer a personalised experience putting each of your individual needs at the heart of our business. No one is treated as a number or transaction and if businesses are holding onto out of date tactics thinking that all that matters is a sales purchase without thinking about the customer’s experience, they need to rethink their strategy. We respect individuality but strive for inclusivity. We acknowledge that everyone has a different reason for buying our products but despite any differences, our beautiful customers collectively belong to a community that uplifts and values our business. In fact, we don’t want our customers to think of us a business with standard opening hours, we want to be family to them where they can reach out to us at any time xoxo. ❤️🌿
  • VALUE // Building and giving value away in both your life and business without expecting anything in return is probably one of the easiest things you can do and one that comes naturally to most people. This could be done in more ways than one. You could bring a positive attitude to someone facing a challenging situation, you could offer sound advice and knowledge for free of charge, you could be there for someone without being judgemental about their feelings, you could take the lead and be proactive about helping out a friend's business and there are tonnes more that you could probably think of. The point is to never lose sight of giving value no matter where you are in your life, whether you have hit rock bottom or totally rocking life. You just never know what could come out of it and how it can benefit someone who really needs it the most xoxo ❤️🌿
  • SHOPPING // In a recent article in Vogue Business, it was cited that the Conscious Consumer Spending Index 2018 confirmed 44 per cent of consumers cite price as the most frequent obstacle to socially responsible shopping. That's nearly a whopping half of the world's conscious consumers. This was the same problem I was facing back in 2015 and it seems like the concern is only getting worse. When I was shopping online (as I couldn't find anything in major retail department stores) for alternative sustainable textiles for my newborn, some of the prices were so exorbitant and I couldn't find any small businesses specialising in what I needed. Many brands, while claiming they were fully sustainable, ethical and eco-friendly, did not divulge any information about their artisan wages, manufacturing processes or the materials or dyes that went into their textile production. Some brands claimed they invested heavily in data analytics but couldn't comprehensively put together a report to break it down to consumers how they were making a difference in the market. I'm not comparing or saying that these companies are doing it all wrong. Luxury sustainable brands service a particular demographic and unfortunately that's not the majority of the population. So I set out to fill this gap and make our products as reasonably priced as possible after taking into consideration the fair wages we provide our artisans including the woodcarvers and the labour and effort that goes into these textiles. No heavy machinery, no factory settings, no complex work hierarchy or structures. Just steadfast commitment and passion to a generational craft using nothing but good old hands.   • RESET // This is my gratitude post for this week. Brand new day, brand new month. It’s all about resetting and recalibrating! No matter how awful or challenging a particular day was, at the break of dawn the next day, be grateful that you are awake and intentionally acknowledge that it is a brand new day. The clock has been reset and you have all the power in your hands to make the day count and be meaningful. Sometimes, it is so easy to get caught in the messy grind especially when things haven't been going too well but every single day is our new gift to us to make our life and those around us meaningful. Every single day is an avenue to reset your own thought patterns and perspectives and serve in your higher self. You could use the day to heal, to restore, to forgive, to make amends, to solve, to give, to understand, to listen to, and just overall be a better version of yourself xoxo ❤️🌿❤️
