We are no believers of resolutions but we want 2017 to be a year of achievements – to just be positive and have an holistic vision for Baby Peppers. So when we chanced upon an old school mate, Mona who was running her own business with her partner distributing and promoting HerbalLife products, especially one that was great for expectant mothers and post-birth, we knew a feature was naturally meant to be.

Diagnosed with high blood sugar levels back in 2015 and considered critically diabetic, Mona knew it was time to take some real action especially when specialists threw an ultimatum at her – go on lifelong medication or drop the weight.

“This health scare really got me thinking. My partner and I have 3 young kids and I want to be around them for many years to come. I started exercising but wasn’t seeing any results. It was a coincidence that my partner bumped into my mentor and was introduced to the Herbalife products. The story pretty much began there.”

Mona saw amazing results with Herbalife. Her energy bounced back and she lost 16kgs, shred 180cm of body fat and went from a size 20-22 to a size 16. “The motivation to just keep going was astounding, Mona recalls. “I was no longer having nanna naps, had the energy of a 10 year old and my blood sugar levels stabilised plus I was no longer diabetic. My partner was also getting fantastic results and he had dropped 14kgs. Our girls were on the products too and they started becoming healthier – all throughout 2016 they did not fall sick even once! That’s the best thing for any parent – that their child is healthy.”

With all these amazing results, Mona and her partner decided to start their own business and become health coaches (as independent Herbalife distributors) to support and change the lifestyle and health of everyone in the community.

And that is why their business philosophy and ethos is so simple – it is to help one person at a time. The brand is so focused on one on one support and ethical shopping that a major commercial decision was made by the parent company not to sell the Herbalife products at retail stores.

“The Herbalife philosophy is to help one person at a time,” says Mona. “The products obviously work but you don’t get them in shops because when you buy the products, you get a health coach with the package. Someone who can support and motivate you to stay on track. We are not salespeople – we are coaches. This is what you do not get when you buy weight loss products off the shelf. This helps us support the philosophy: 80{5179fdacbfe29016f900bfe2dcfcbfb2eab94a1d74da343bb56f49e773efcdda} Nutrition, 20{5179fdacbfe29016f900bfe2dcfcbfb2eab94a1d74da343bb56f49e773efcdda} exercise and 100{5179fdacbfe29016f900bfe2dcfcbfb2eab94a1d74da343bb56f49e773efcdda} mindset.”

While weight loss products are generally not recommended for expectant mothers, Mona affirms that the ingredients in Herballife products are so clean and safe that everyone can use them. “The products are backed by a Health and Nutrition Board whose advisory committee has the best in their fields. Mums looking to lose the baby weight in a safe manner will find that the products will support their progress. Their health coach will be able to link them with other mums and mums- to-be to get additional support. Pregnant women and mums would find that they are getting all the right nutrition to support a healthy lifestyle.”

Envisioning a healthy lifestyle for her family and everyone around them, Mona says her business goal and vision is simply just to help others enjoy life in a healthy manner. “We want those around us and those we have yet to meet to gain the benefit of healthy ageing and to enjoy their life with their family and friends for many happy, healthy years to come –  one person at a time. Our greatest motivation is to share the wealth of health with everyone we know and yet to meet.”, Mona remarks.
